This is a homemade, very basic version of a macro utility, similar to MacroExpress created for Brooklyn College Library copy catalogers using Aleph 18.01.   Press two buttons on the keyboard, while using the Aleph Cataloging module, and it fills in fields and creates holdings in two seconds (for example, the 946 'NBL' field).  Any questions: ann.matsuuchi@gmail.com (LG)

To try this out, download this and save it on your hard drive:

1- MacroProggy.exe

Run the program (double-click on MacroProggy.exe), and hit the start button.  Commands are easily edited for local holdings info, and unique fields.  The program icon (smiley face) will appear in the tray.  

When you run the program the first time, a configuration file is created (MacroProggy.cfg).  It should be in the same location as MacroProggy.exe.  You can look and edit the config file by right-clicking it and opening it with Notepad.

These are some sample shortcuts created for Brooklyn College Library;  codes are listed below > just change the NBC/BC001/STACK to whatever your library uses in the holdings (852 0_ a, b, & c fields):
