Relating to the Coutts meeting on Tuesday, 11/18/08 - if anyone wants to make the catalog check function work on the Coutts OASIS site, here are
some instructions:
1 - Login to OASIS [www.couttsoasis.com]
2 - In the left hand menu, click on Administration > Manage Group
3 - In the bottom window, select the 'Properties' tab
4 - Scroll to the bottom and look for the box labeled 'Catalogue Check URL/'
5 - Paste this URL - for searching the Union Catalog:
http://apps.appl.cuny.edu:83/F?func=scan&scan_code=ISBN&scan_start=$ISBN
for searching your local catalog (just change 'brooklyn' to your library, queens, gradcenter, etc.)
http://apps.appl.cuny.edu:83/F?func=scan&scan_code=ISBN&scan_start=$ISBN&local_base=brooklyn
6 - Click on the 'Save' button above the properties tab, and you're done. Now you can click on the 'Check local catalogue' icon next to book ISBNs in the 'Title Details' tab of any book searched for in OASIS.
